Elke e-commerce onderneming moet google ads gebruiken.

  • Bereik uw doelgroep eenvoudig
  • Kwaliteit leidt naar uw website
  • Snel resultaten zien
  • Now, it's time to dive into the tutorial.

    1. Create a new campaign

Head to ads.google.com and sign in. Create a new Google account if you don't have one. Select "New Google ads account" to start your campaign.

    Select a goal

Choose from eight marketing goals on the next page. For dropshipping adverts, we recommend clicking on "Website traffic." Your Google ad will aim to push online users to visit your website and make a purchase.

    Select a campaign type

Google lets you choose between search, display, shopping, video, and discovery. In this case, we will guide you through creating a campaign for a dropshipping search ad. Click "Search" as your campaign type.

    Add your website

Copy and paste your dropshipping website URL. Then click "Continue."

    Add a campaign name

This could be, "Dropshipping ad #1." Numbering them is useful if you are choosing to create multiple Google ads.

    Bidding

Make sure to select "Clicks." You can set a maximum cost-per-click bid limit if you want to add this as well.

    2. Campaign settings

    Networks

Untick "Include Google Display Network" for Display Network as this tutorial will focus on Search Network.

    Locations

Select the country where your Google ads will be displayed.

Here, refer to your dropshipping business's target market and customer persona profile. You can use our guide, "How to create a customer persona," for help creating one.

Be mindful that if you choose just one specific city, state, or county, this could cost more money. Going broader and selecting an entire country, or multiple cities, states or counties, is more cost-effective for your Google ads budget.

    Languages

Select the language of your target market.

    3. Keywords and ads

    Keywords

Google gives you the option to scan your website to automatically pull out your keywords. However, this is usually not accurate, so it's recommended to skip this option and add them manually.

Make sure to do some keyword research before adding your keywords here.

For example, you might have a pet supplies dropshipping website. If you were selling to customers in Australia, these are some examples:

  • "Pet supplies Australia"
  • Pet supplies Australia
  • [Pet supplies Australia]
  • "Pet products Australia"
  • Pet products Australia
  • [Pet supplies Australia]
  • "Dog crate Australia"
  • [Dog crate Australia]
  • Pet products Australia
  • Ads: Final URL

Copy and paste the URL of the landing page for your Google ad.

    Display path

Use this to create a URL that describes to your customer where they are being directed.

    Headlines

Write phrases that are up to 30 characters each for your ad headlines. These should be unique and include keywords. Google helps you by suggesting headlines based on the URL of your website.

For the Australian pet shop example:

  • Pet store online
  • Free shipping over $49.99
  • Everyday low prices
  • Descriptions

Create phrases with a bit more detail than the headlines. These are limited to 90 characters each.

    Examples:

  • Australia's #1 online pet store
  • Pet supplies, accessories & food online
  • All your pet supplies in one place
  • Assets

This is optional. Add more useful information to your ads such as your business phone number or promotions (such as "free delivery"). This can increase the number of clicks or enquiries.

    4. Budget

Since you don't want to blow all your advertising budget on your first Google ad, keep the initial budget low.

It's good marketing practice to create multiple Google ads to do split testing. So, save some of your budget with this in mind. If you have a $500 budget for example for your search ads, set aside just $30-40 per week to start. This might be a daily budget of $5.

    5. Payment

Add your payment details and publish your Google ad.

    6. Monitor and tweak your ad

Finally, check your Google ad and make changes if you want to improve the number of clicks. It's common practice to tweak your Google ads as you go. This might be making changes to your headline copy or descriptions, for example.

    Summary

Google ads are an incredible tool for pushing sales for your dropshipping store. It will help to reach a huge number of online users that you might struggle to reach otherwise. Don't forget, Google ads require a lot of trial and error, so don't worry if you aren't seeing results immediately. Keep tweaking and improving your ads and you'll reap the rewards.
